Re: SAINTS!!!

I was rooting for the Colts, however you have to feel good for Brees and the Saints. (aside from Shockey)

I must say that I thought Jim Caldwell coached an absolutely atrocious game! One point in this game really stands out. All season long the Colts were a pound it down your throat team. Why did they get so conservative at the end of the 2nd half???? The Play calling was terrible. They ran the ball far too much.

On the contrary, Sean Peyton, whom I don't care for all too much, had one of the ballsy calls to go for that onside kick, which changed the entire game. It was a huge blunder not scoring on that 4th down play, but to come back down and onside kick it to start the game was a hell of a call. It's one of those calls where if you fail, you're scrutinized for a long long time. I have to give the guy credit for making the call after his other gamble failed. That play gave the Saints the ability to win this game.

I thought this game was a big hit on Manning's legacy. Is Peyton one of the top QB's of all time? Absolutely..maybe one of the best regular season QB's ever for that matter. However, the immortal ones are remembered for their play in Super Bowls. Manning was untouchable in big spots all season long. You couldn't stop him no matter what. Here... a much different story. That pick he threw was huge in the grand scheme of things. Montana, Bradshaw, Aikman, Young, Starr, Staubach, Brady all have had multiple huge Super Bowls. Manning is going to leave himself open to scrutiny after this.

Re: SAINTS!!!

I agree with a lot of what Matthew said.

The Colts were conservative and the Saints were aggressive, but as aggressive as they were, Brees was very patient. The main reason Indy lost is because their offense spent most of the game watching it from the sideline.

It was a great gameplan and the only one that, if successful, works against Manning.

Really happy for a lot of people in New Orleans. The French Quarter is going to be rockin' for a week.

Re: SAINTS!!!

that pick was so uncharacteristic on manning, too. he usually is hyper-aware of where the DBs are, but it seemed like he completely forgot that Porter was there. Great play on his part.

Re: SAINTS!!!

I'm happy for the Saints, happy for Nawlins. Just seemed like they had the fire in them this game and the Colts just kind of expected to win. Onside kick was genius...because it worked out. After that I said no way they lose now. French Quarter was bonkers but seriously...how do 3 people end up getting shot? That's ludicrous. Anyway, it's a great city that's been through hell. Good for them. With Mardi Gras coming they're gonna be partying straight into March.

Re: SAINTS!!!

I was pulling for the Colts because I like Manning but I was not upset when the Saints won. Deep down inside I think I wanted them because of this whole "feel good" story and Drew Brees is a stand up guy with a huge heart. With that being said, I fucking hate Jeremy Shockey -- WITH A PASSION. Ok Bye.
